Thank you SO VERY MUCH to Harvey World Travel Niddrie for organising (our holiday prize) for us... we had an absolutely AMAZING time! Our favourite part of the trip was the Mele Cascades - oh wow, they were amazing! Walking through the jungle up the mountain then at the end to swim underneath the waterfall...wow! There is SO much to see and do in Vanuatu! We are SO grateful for this opportunity, if we hadn't of won the prize, we probably would never have had a chance to do something like this. - Sarah & John ..

Last time I do this. I do the buy 5 tickets and they ate always consecutive. Which means chances at diminished. Over 400 bucks of tickets over 3 years each time, I feel ripped off when I see others win multiple prizes. A joke and waste of money nearly $1100 over the years not happy at all - Nick A.
Same here. I bought 5 pack every time for about 5-6 years now I can't remember. Though I think they randomly select winning ticket from 90,000 tickets sold, not use the barrel system, so each ticket have the same chance to win regardless the ticket number. Over these years I've won a case of wine once, and I don't drink! lol. Better luck next time! - J. P.
I would be very interested exactly how they choose the winners, I still think it's not done randomly or fairly. - Nick A.
We are pleased to report that all draws are conducted using a random number generator approved by the Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation. Draws are conducted by Deloitte Ticket Administration and are open for public viewing. We thank you for your past support as proceeds from the Home Lottery have made a tremendous contribution to medical care, education and research at The Royal Melbourne Hospital. - The Hospital Home Lottery

Hi, I am wondering how the winning number is selected? Is it something like there are 6 barrels with 0-9 numbers in each barrel and then each digit for the winning number is picked from each barrel to form a 6 digit winning number? Or, is it that the winning numbers are picked from number 1-90,000 (since there are 90,000 tickets sold)?. I'm asking because all my tickets have number in this format XXYYYZ (For example, 002223), which are very less likely to be winning number if you use the former method :( It is very hard for the same number to come up 2-3 times in a row. I think if you use the former method, tickets with nice random numbers have higher chance to win, does not it? Anyway, I have everything crossed even though I have these bugger for tickets lol. Thanks for the good cause and hope! - J. P.
The numbers are picked from 1-90,000 (since there are 90,000 tickets sold). After each draw the winner is recorded and the ticket number goes back in for the next draw. Thanks so much for your support and good luck in the draws! - The Hospital Home Lottery
Thanks for clearing that up. That's a relief! lol I was about to buy another 5 pack but it's sold out :( The draw is on tomorrow then. So excited! lol - J. P.

RMH Home Lottery is an excellent way to raise money for an important community service. However, I undertook a virtual tour of this house and realise there are three errors in the ground floor and first floor plans. Ground floor laundry is actually laid out differently compared to the ground floor plan, e.g. the window and door are the other way around. Also, a) the first floor ensuite is not laid out as per the first floor plan, e.g. the bath actually situated between the two windows and not at the side and there are two basins on the bedroom wall side and not in the middle of the bathroom; and b) the first floor bedroom 4 window is actually facing alfresco and not the street as indicated on the first floor plan. - Dr S.

I considered entering this several times. The first time what put me off was the cost of the ticket. I then thought about the odds of winning, and it makes more sense to support a worthy cause once, than to spend the same amount on multiple Tattslotto tickets. But... ultimately I decided not to enter because I really dislike the way all the winners are publicly listed, right down to who won what etc. It's like your creating a shopping list for burglars. That's enough to put me off entering for good. No anonymity, no way. - No T.

I think $100 per ticket is too much. It stops the ordinary person who would like to support this worthy cause from entering and makes it more elitist. Better to have some more tickets and reduce the purchase price. - Jo R.

I would like to know how, if you have 90000 tickets and my ticket is entered for EVERY draw, I have a 1 in 25 chance of winning? That would be a 1 in 90000 chance by my Maths! Seems a bit like false advertising unless I am missing something? - Lyn L.
Thank you for your enquiry Lyn. There are 90,000 tickets on offer in the current Royal Melbourne Hospital Home Lottery. There are 3,675 prize draws and each ticket is entered into all 3,675 draws. This provides each ticket with a 1 in 25 chance of winning a prize. The chances of winning calculation is verified by an Actuary and the complete version can be provided upon request. - The Hospital Home Lottery
90,000 divided by 3,675 =24.48 (rounded up to 25) - j B.
Still Lyn is correct because basic maths is that each ticket has a 1 in 90,000 chance to be drawn each time. Just because you have more prizes it doesn't increase the probability of your ticket being drawn. - George S.

In my thoughts I a find all the great work Royal Melbourne Hospital Facinating and big deal for all the people who need help. Such as I see all the non-english people being provided with interpreters. This is one great deal I think as Australia has a range of people coming from different in from different country. The staff agreeing to treat the people trusting what the interpreter translates and curing the patient.. Wooh.. Its awesome. As Time goes... I hope for the best for the hospital. And with all the blessings from God who has given such talent to all the staff who work there. The staff should be blessed abunduntly holding a beat and the life of human in hand curing them. If I am buying a 5 pack ticket why can't I add 5 names on the tickets, why do I only have the option to put 3 names on the tickets? - Dee S.
Thanks for your inquiry Dee. Our current software, only provides three spaces for names on the order form, however we can print all five names on a 5-pack ticket. To have five names included, you can type more than one name in each space separated with commas. EG: 2 names box 1, 2 names box 2, 1 name box 3. Thank you for your support. - Hospital Home Lottery

I love this lottery, can't wait to receive a brochure in the post and I support it every year. However, I was disappointed the quality and standard of this home is very different compared to last year's beautiful home. Is it a different builder? Last year's home had a private office and formal dining room with built-in cellar and there was a private courtyard. Lounge room had an amazing fireplace, kitchen had marble benches and a walk-in pantry. Wood flooring was much higher quality. Beautiful fixtures and superior features throughout. The master bathroom was sheer luxury. The room preportions throughout were bigger, back garden area was also bigger, the location 3kms closer to the city and 100m from tram line and high street shops. It was truly a dream home. $2.2 million value for this year's home - really? I hope next year's home is back to your usual high standard. - S.S. - Susan S.

Can't help noticing the house is situated right next to the overhead electrical cables and all the bedrooms upstairs and activity rooms downstairs are placed closest to where the cables are. That means exposure to electromagnetic force is maximized instead of minimized to both children and adults living in the house. Increased health risks such as leukemia, brain tumor, miscarriages, depression, anxiety etc have been high lighted in various studies although direct cause and effect relationship can't be proven at this point in time. Why does RMH offer this house as prize? - Sarah S.
Thank you for your inquiry. Health and safety is of great importance to us as well. The home has been built within all safety and building code standards. - Hospital Home Lottery
Well then the safety and building standards are very low and highly dangerous ! The standards of the building code should be scrapt and re written all over again ! You call that safe ! - steve J.
Don't fret, you haven't won the house yet, so no worries about "safety" yet. - Susan B.

The floor plan of master room ensuite is incorrect. Current study is unconvincing as a study designed for the purpose. Can't keep confidential documents there as it is so exposed. Why is there a double door leading from study to front yard? Such a security risk for break in and serves no purpose as entry to the house as the front door - Sarah S.

RMH is somewhat of an Australian icon, why is it not supporting Australian industry and using Australian made cars as prizes. Both Holden and Ford have some great top end cars in their line up. Some of us have no interest in overrated European junk. Give us Aussie. - Kevin P.

Hi, it seems there are quite a few people asked about how to claim their prizes. I am too waiting for instruction which I thought would be sent by mail. I am currently living overseas and maybe there is a delay with the post but since I have already got my tickets for the current lottery by mail so that should not be the case. Please advise. By the way, thanks for the prize and thanks for this good cause! - Juntima P.
If you have won a prize, you should have received instructions by mail by now. If you would like to email your winning details (full name on ticket or ticket number) to admin@rmhhomelottery.com.au we would be more than happy to follow this up for you. - Home Lottery

are the prizes ex Melbourne? if you live interstate will the cars be need to be picked up in Melbourne or will they be delivered to maybe Tasmania? as for other prizes do they post to Tasmania or do you need to come to Melbourne to collect? thanks - R D.
Thank you for your inquiry. As this is a Victorian based Lottery and for the most part marketed within the state, yes the prizes are ex Melbourne. Having said that many of the smaller prizes include freight for delivery. Arrangements for claiming larger prizes such as vehicles need to be made directly wit the dearlership supplying the vehicle, however that does not necessarily mean you would need to travel to Melbourne. - Home Lottery

Thank you for your inquiry. Yes – you may have your name withheld and simply have your initial, suburb, and state listed in the publication. - Home Lottery
Can winners of major prizes,if they wish, have an alias and a different suburb, state? Do winners have to pose for photo's?Eg:winner posted on your site. I like my privacy and don't want to hounded by scammers etc. - an O.
Thank you for your inquiry. A winner may opt to have their name withheld from publication but we would not publish any false winner details. With respect to photographs, winner’s are certainly not obligated to have their photograph taken or published. - Hospital Home Lottery

I often support RMH Home Lottery and although the tickets are very expensive, the money goes to a good cause. However, we were looking up my name and a couple of my friends names to see if we won anything and was disappointed to see that someone won two prizes on the one ticket number. I wonder how often that happens and why? Seems a bit unfair to me. Great bonus for those people though! - Angela Y.
Thank you so much for you support Angela. Each ticket purchased is eligible for every prize draw on offer and The Royal Melbourne Hospital Home Lottery had over 3,600 prizes in the lottery just gone. As your ticket is in every draw you have a 1 in 25 chances to win a prize and some winners have been extra lucky enough to win more than one prize. Again thank you for your support and best of luck in the future.

Royal Melb Hospital( via donations& lottery),they've helped so many people, including myself.,thus why I'm here today& remain a keen loyal supporter But just for info for others - if win eg wines ,Borelli, which I was rapt to win 2years ago,you literally have to get there to pick up them( in Melbourne hills 4 hours ++away ).Which as pensioner/ disabled and no one visiting that area, this proved impossible..so never got them, It was lovely to finally win ..in 5-7 years of support, and it would have been wonderful to collect. Hope/future for anyone ..who may win big or small prizes, Please ,in exceptional cases a way may be made to help those of us less fortunate&not able to travel/ move around to collect prizes, - Leisa M.
Hi Leisa, thank you very much for your valued feedback and your wonderful support towards The Royal Melbourne Hospital Home Lottery. In recent programs we have attached freight to some of the prizes to assist winners far away being able to enjoy their prize. DREAMS DO COME TRUE! My three sisters and I have been purchasing tickets for some years to support RHM for all the wonderful care of our family over the past 30 years. Yesterday we visited our beautiful new home. Thank you RMH and Glenville. It is so lovely and the family will enjoy it all - from the gorgeous fire place, to escaping for some peace and serenity in the fab bath tub. We can't wait to have our family dinners on the wonderful big dining tables. Thank you to all our family and friends for your good wishes. To everyone out there - continue to support the RMH and buy tickets for the next home - it just might be your lucky turn next time. You too could have the opportunity of a lifetime. Good luck. The Four Sisters. - Julie H.
